James R. GavinJames R. Gavin III, MD, PhD is committed to improving diabetes care among hard to reach communities and individual health systems. He works with agencies and healthcare systems across Asia the US while simultaneously serving as chair of the Partnership for a Healthier America, the private sector companion to First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign. A former President of Morehouse School of Medicine, he has published over 190 articles and abstracts; authored two books; and hosted public radio’s “Powerpoint” health talk in Atlanta, GA.

LaShondà Steward

LaShondà StewardLaShonda` brings over 17 years of experience in the creation, implementation and evaluation of multi-channel, national and global campaigns, strategic marketing and communications, and corporate communications. She has directed partnership programs for CDC, HUD, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria, World Health Organization, Habitat for Humanity, and Heart Rhythm Society. Imani GreeneImani has over 20 years experience designing communications solutions, She has a deep understanding of paid and earned media across all platforms and media disciplines to reach people in a way that is meaningful to their lives, and to clients’ businesses. She has designed and built cross-platform advertising solutions for corporate marketers like ADP and YMCA and advocacy advertisers like the Association of American Railroads, including working with PR and communications experts to produce paid-media campaigns that work in tandem with their clients’ marketing and public relations efforts.

Wendy Hagen

Wendy HagenWendy helps organizations find their voice and tell their story in an engaging way by revitalizing their brands and refining their messaging. A research-based communications strategist, Wendy has led branding, integrated communications and advertising campaigns. Her past experience includes former Executive Vice President and Partner with Porter Novelli, Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer for Arnold Worldwide, and Director of Creative Resources for Lockheed Martin, where she directed the corporate branding and global advertising program.

Thomas Johnson

Thomas JohnsonThomas has nearly 25 years experience driving organizational improvements and implementation of best practices. As former president of Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) he has extensive knowledge and experience advancing and improving access and delivery of quality health care to Medicaid members. As Founder and President of MHPA Center for Best Practices he developed strategy for promoting the Medicaid health plan industry, including a Best Practices Awards Forum and produced an annual Best Practices Compendium.

Ivy McGregor

Ivy McGregor Ivy is a 20-year veteran of global business and partnerships strategy. She currently serves as a strategic consultant to GE’s healthymagination, GE’s $6B global commitment for better health for people across the world, and leads Philanthropy, Partnerships & Programs for Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment. She was named a 2012 US Emerging Leader by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and is a United Nations Representative to the National Council of Women of the US – selected to receive their 2013 International Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership Award.

Tariq Khan

Tariq Khan Tariq Khan is a recognized business leader in marketing, branding, innovation, digital marketing, social media, and diversity arena. Tariq has had a distinguished twenty-year career, mostly working at global Fortune companies including ING, Nationwide, and MetLife. He is credited with developing and supporting the largest and most diverse distribution channel in the financial services industry for ING. He has launched several award winning branding campaigns, marketing programs, and social media campaigns for the African American, Asian, Hispanic, and women’s market. Tariq has equally impressive contributions in the non-profit world. He is a member of the board of directors at the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the largest U.S. organizations devoted to scholarships for Asian and Pacific Islander American students, and serves on the board at the Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS), a national non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Asian Pacific American participation and representation at all levels of the political process.

Tariq is also an adjunct professor of marketing and public relations at New York University SCPS. His expertise/courses include Integrated Marketing Communications, Competitive Intelligence, Multi-channel Marketing, social media, and Public Relations.

Daria Torres

She was an Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company, a world-renowned leader in the management consulting field. There, she developed an information technology plan that generated more than $60 million in revenue growth and nearly $20 million in cost savings for a pair of New York-area academic medical centers. She also helped a global energy services provider strengthen its organizational design and strategic plan, resulting in its formation of a conglomerate in South America. Torres is on the faculty of the Rutgers University School of Business at Camden and supports the Leadership and Communications programs at The Wharton School of Business dating back to 2007.
